A weak atmospheric depression over southwestern Turkey is bringing unsettled weather to Lebanon with scattered rain, cooler temperatures, and stronger winds through Wednesday.
Changeable summer weather is affecting Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean on Monday under a weak atmospheric depression positioned southwest of Turkey, according to the Meteorological Service.
Conditions are expected to be partly cloudy with a noticeable drop in temperature, especially over mountains and inland areas where readings will fall below seasonal averages. Dense fog will develop at higher elevations, with light scattered rain forecast from afternoon onwards, particularly in mountainous and northern regions.
Southwesterly winds will pick up, ranging between 15 and 50 kilometres per hour, raising sea waves and reducing visibility on mid-altitude peaks due to fog. The Meteorological Service warned of active winds and rough seas continuing through Wednesday.
Temperatures in Beirut are expected between 25 and 31 degrees Celsius, in Tripoli between 24 and 31 degrees, in Zahlu00e9 between 17 and 31 degrees, and in Qartaba between 14 and 23 degrees.
Conditions are forecast to stabilize from Thursday onwards, with temperatures beginning to rise again.
