Corrections

We correct in public. If we have published something that is wrong, we want to hear about it and we would rather fix it than defend it.

How to raise a correction

Write to editor@thebeirutjournal.com with the article, the passage in question, and what you believe the accurate position to be. Supporting material helps and is treated in confidence.

What happens next

  1. An editor reviews the complaint and checks it against our sourcing.
  2. If we were wrong, the article is corrected, and a dated correction notice is added to the article itself explaining what changed.
  3. If we were not wrong, we reply and explain why, with the evidence.

What we do not do

We do not delete an article to make a mistake disappear, and we do not amend a story silently. The correction stays on the page.
