Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Ali al-Tahir heights in southern Lebanon no longer pose a threat to Israel after recent military operations there.
Netanyahu said the heights, in southern Lebanon, no longer threaten Israel and that Israeli forces had killed large numbers of fighters in the area.
An Israeli military spokesperson said the 36th Division had completed what she described as clearing underground infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah in the Ali al-Tahir heights and continued to neutralise it.
Forces achieved operational control of the heights above and below ground, the spokesperson said. Israeli troops cleared the area of Hezbollah elements, with some killed and others fleeing, while work continues on the underground facilities.
Inside the infrastructure, forces found operations rooms, weapons storage, generators, sleeping areas, shower facilities and a kitchen that allowed extended stays and long-term operations management.
The Israeli military described the installations as strategic infrastructure built over two decades, claiming they were planned and funded by Iran.
The Israeli military said it continues operations in what it calls the security zone in southern Lebanon and will forcefully counter any Hezbollah attempt to attack its forces, reiterating its commitment to the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.
