Israel launched airstrikes across south Lebanon on Thursday, killing a woman in Arab Salim, after the Israeli army said Hezbollah fired two explosive drones at its forces in the Ali al-Taher area overnight.
A woman who had been married 48 hours was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a house in the southern town of Arab Salim on Thursday, according to the National News Agency. Several other people were wounded in the strike.
The Israeli military said Hezbollah launched two explosive drones at its forces in the Ali al-Taher area overnight, causing no Israeli casualties. Troops downed one drone, and contact was lost with the second, according to an Israeli army statement.
Israeli forces struck multiple locations in the south, including Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Kfar Rumman and the Ali al-Taher heights. The military claimed the targets were Hezbollah weapons storage sites intended to harm Israeli forces and civilians.
Overnight into Thursday, Israeli strikes and shelling also hit Ali al-Taher, al-Mansouri, Mayfadoun, Zawtar al-Sharqiyeh and Mays al-Jabal. Israeli forces bulldozed, burned and detonated houses in the border village of Mays al-Jabal.
The Israeli army said it would not permit Hezbollah to operate against its forces in the security zone and would continue operations against what it called repeated attempts to harm Israeli troops.
