New fuel price schedules issued on Tuesday show increases in petrol and diesel, with a slight decline in cooking gas.
A new fuel pricing schedule released Tuesday morning set petrol 95 octane at 2,571,000 Lebanese pounds, up 33,000 pounds from the previous rate, and petrol 98 octane at 2,589,000 pounds, also up 33,000 pounds. Diesel rose to 2,446,000 pounds from 2,433,000 pounds, while cooking gas prices edged down slightly after a sharper fall in the prior schedule.
The latest increases follow a much larger jump on Friday 28 August, when petrol prices climbed 67,000 pounds per litre and diesel rose 34,000 pounds, offset partially by a 7,000 pound drop in cooking gas. Over the past week, the price of petrol 95 octane has risen from 2,538,000 to 2,571,000 pounds per tin.
A spokesman for fuel distributors announced the new prices on Tuesday.
