The Lebanese cabinet will convene on Thursday afternoon to discuss political and security developments, review a 2027 budget proposal, and address a range of administrative and defence matters.
The cabinet meets at 3 p.m. on Thursday, 3 September 2026 at the Grand Serail. Finance Minister Yassin Jaber will present the government's draft 2027 budget, and the agriculture ministry will report on farms and slaughterhouses within Rafic Hariri International Airport.
The agenda includes a request from the energy ministry to approve Kuwait Petroleum Corporation's offer to supply Lebanon's electricity authority with approximately 88,000 tons of gas oil in two shipments during September and October. The first shipment is a gift; the second will be paid from the authority's account.
Cabinet will consider an agreement with the International Monetary Fund to establish an office for the fund's resident representative in Lebanon, and amendments to the defence cooperation accord with Italy.
The agenda encompasses security items including procurement of equipment for the army and internal security forces, and acceptance of donations to security institutions comprising vehicles and equipment for the general security, security forces and state security.
The health ministry is requesting that 10 September be declared a national day for suicide prevention and mental health awareness.
The cabinet will also address 24 additional administrative, financial and security items, including property matters and foreign assignments for several ministers and officials.
