President Joseph Aoun marked the Prophet's Birthday on Monday with a call for national unity, noting that the religious occasion arrives as Lebanon confronts grave challenges. The President cited repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanese sovereignty and territory in the South and other regions, alongside the economic and living crises weighing on citizens.
Aoun urged Lebanese to find inspiration in the Prophet's lessons of resilience, firmness and unity to face the aggression targeting the country and to advance the rebuilding of a strong and just state capable of protecting all its citizens without discrimination.
The President emphasized that the spiritual occasion, rooted in values of brotherhood, tolerance and coexistence, reflects principles that have always underpinned Lebanon's national accord and the covenant of shared life among its diverse communities.
National unity is the strongest shield against all challenges, Aoun concluded.
