We correct in public. If we have published something that is wrong, we want to hear about it and we would rather fix it than defend it.
How to raise a correction
Write to editor@thebeirutjournal.com with the article, the passage in question, and what you believe the accurate position to be. Supporting material helps and is treated in confidence.
What happens next
- An editor reviews the complaint and checks it against our sourcing.
- If we were wrong, the article is corrected, and a dated correction notice is added to the article itself explaining what changed.
- If we were not wrong, we reply and explain why, with the evidence.
What we do not do
We do not delete an article to make a mistake disappear, and we do not amend a story silently. The correction stays on the page.
