An aircraft belonging to the operating company for Martyr Rene Mouawad Airport in Qalamoun has arrived at Rafik Hariri International Airport as preparations advance for flights from the new facility.
The plane arrived at Beirut airport as part of administrative and technical procedures ahead of the airport's launch before the end of the year, according to the National News Agency.
The arrival is a preparatory step and does not signal the start of flights from Qalamoun. The aircraft landed in Beirut while operations at Qalamoun remain in their planning phase.
Work continues on the airport's equipment and the logistics required to open the facility.
