The Israeli army widened its operations in southern Lebanon through air strikes, artillery bombardment and ground incursions, targeting areas from Ali al-Tahir to Kafr Shouba.

Operations extended throughout the day across several sectors, combining air strikes, artillery fire, ground incursions, demolition and sweeping operations, targeting Ali al-Tahir, Nabatiyeh al-Fouqa, Iqlim al-Tuffah, Marjayoun, al-Mansouri, Haresh and Kafr Shouba.

The Israeli army said it launched the strikes in response to Hezbollah firing two explosive drones at its forces in Ali al-Tahir, adding that it targeted Hezbollah infrastructure in Nabatiyeh. Hezbollah issued no statement confirming the army's account of the drone launches.

An air strike on Arbasalieh killed citizen Saja Moussa Shararah and wounded others after a warplane targeted her family home in the town and destroyed it. Shararah had been married just 48 hours earlier.

Heavy bombardment began around 6 a.m. on Ali al-Tahir with concussive missiles that caused large explosions followed by thick smoke. This was preceded overnight by strikes on the area between Zoutar al-Sharqiyeh and Meifoun.

Israeli aircraft struck several buildings in al-Mansouri in Tyre district at dawn, with explosion blasts heard in Tyre city and surrounding villages, breaking windows in adjacent areas.

An Israeli force accompanied by tanks and bulldozers advanced into the western outskirts of Marjayoun in the Dabash area, burning homes and uprooting agricultural greenhouses, and used a truck loaded with explosives to carry out a demolition operation in the neighbourhood.

Israeli forces conducted a broad sweep towards the edges of Haresh from the direction of Hadatha, with gunfire hitting homes in the area. Operations extended to Kafr Shouba where two Merkava tanks and military vehicles advanced into the eastern outskirts of the town in the Shammis area.

The Israeli forces raised their flag in the Shammis area of Kafr Shouba during the incursion, concurrent with intensive sweeping operations using machine gun fire in its vicinity.
